In Windows 10, cumulative updates automatically install on your computer as soon as they are released. While this is important for security improvements and performance upgrades, this has also resulted in some users experiencing troubles with the new updates. If you no longer wish to receive updates, here’s how you can stop automatic Windows 10 updates.
How to disable automatic Windows 10 updates
- On your keyboard, press the Windows key + R. In the new window that appears in the bottom-left corner, type services.msc then click OK.
- A new window will pop up with a list of local Windows services on your device. Scroll down until you find Windows Updates, right-click on it, then press Properties.
- In the new window, look for the dropdown menu beside Startup type. Select it and choose Disabled.
- Press Apply, then OK.
That’s it! Hopefully, you will stop receiving automatic Windows 10 updates.
